Succession Communication Server 2000

The Succession Communication Server 2000 is one of Nortel Networks two Superclass Softswitches.

The Succession Communication Server 2000 delivers the capabilities of call management, controlling access and trunking gateways while delivering local, long distance and tandem services. Reducing both capital and operating expenses, the Succession Communication Server 2000 is feature rich, scalable and transport-efficient, functioning as the core element to a standard-based multi-service network.

Features
Superclass pertains to a specific set of attributes that service providers equate with successful softswitch deployment.

These attributes include:
  • Strategic architecture: Consolidated local, tandem, and long distance capabilities enable service providers to cost-effectively transition to packet without investing in inefficient overlay solutions.
  • Comprehensive Services: Designed to deliver DMS service transparency as well as next generation services, with 3000+ features available on either of two hardware platforms. Both work with our portfolio of gateways and transport elements, and both softswitches support the full suite of Succession Services for business and residential markets including Centrex / Centrex IP, Voice over IP VPNs, Personal Communications Manager, Multimedia and Collaboration, and Primary and Internet Voice.
  • Regulatory features: Packed with regulatory features, such as lawful intercept, emergency and operator services, and number portability.
  • Carrier values: Carrier-grade attributes-such as scalability, reliability, and seamless back office integration-are built into the word Superclass.
